Jesus Christ alone is called “the Chief Shepherd” and therefore, He is the “Pastor” of this flock (1 Peter 5:4). We are a community who is deeply determined to glorify God and not man-made religious patterns. We reject the one-man model of ministry as insufficient and unbiblical. We believe team leadership is God’s designated plan clearly found in the New Testament. We believe in elders and deacons functioning together, along with the five ministry functions (Eph. 4), to serve the needs of the church.

Come between 10:30 and 10:45 am for a pre-service cuppa and a chat. Our Sunday morning service will then begin at 11:00 am. Our goal is to pursue God’s presence together and not to have a well-polished service, so the time our service ends may vary from week to week. You can expect a time of corporate worship, communion and teaching. We also create space for prayer ministry at the end of service.

We believe that God has a unique and specific plan for each of our gatherings (1 Cor. 14:26). We want Holy Spirit to accomplish His work in our midst and desire not to restrict, quench, or grieve Him (Eph. 4:30, 1 Thess. 5:19). We value preparation, yet we are willing and ready to yield and go in the direction God is leading us. We serve the Living God who is still active today and should not be put in a box of religious routine and man-made tradition (Matt. 15:1-9).

Our midweek meetings currently consist of:

Tuesday night Tabernacle Worship (7:30 for tea/8:00 pm start) and

Thursday War Room Prayer (10:30 for tea/11:00 am start).

These are both held at the Centre, 7 Causeway Road. There is also a Friday evening bible study that meets in someone’s home.

At times we may offer life groups/discipleship groups in homes, prayer or fellowship gatherings, or different opportunities to “go deeper”. This is yet another area we continually submit to the Holy Spirit’s leading. We want all of our gatherings to be full of the life-giving presence of God, not just another meeting to attend.

Our foundation for ministry is love and relationship. While our desire is to see the gifts of the Holy Spirit manifest through every believer, our meetings are not an open mic free-for-all. The people stewarding the flow of the service have a God-given responsibility to guard and protect the whole flock. If you believe you have a word that will edify the church, it must be submitted to leadership since they are ultimately responsible for what happens during a service. We ask that this be communicated to the leadership at an appropriate time that will not disrupt the Body or the service. Especially in our midweek services, it will be made clear who are the leaders for these meetings.

We believe that Jesus is the King of all kings and initiated the Kingdom of God and rules as the King of the Kingdom of heaven. The Kingdom of God is accessible only through Jesus and it is an internal/spiritual kingdom that works itself out into every part of all creation. This is the gospel that Jesus and his earliest followers both taught and demonstrated to the world around them. We access the Kingdom of God through ‘water and Spirit’, faith in who Jesus is and what He has done. The rulership of Jesus over our lives then impacts every facet of society in which we live, and we are sent to see the whole world filled with the glory of the knowledge of God!
